Cole Strange was the first of 10 players selected by the Patriots in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The 2022 NFL Draft has come and gone.

The New England Patriots added 10 players during the three-day event, including seven players on the final day (Rounds 4-7).

None of those picks, however, made headlines as the Patriots’ first-round pick on Thursday. After going from the 21st pick to the 29th pick, the Patriots selected UT-Chattanooga guard Cole Strange. The selection was considered one of the most surprising moves in the draft.

Second turn: 50th overall: Tyquan Thornton, Wide Receiver (Baylor)

Third round: 85th overall: Marcus Jones, cornerback (Houston)

Fourth round: 121st overall (via Chiefs): Jack Jones, Cornerback (Arizona State)

Fourth round: 127th overall: Pierre Strong Jr., Running Back (South Dakota State)

Fourth round: 137th overall (via the Panthers): Bailey Zappe, Quarterback (Western Kentucky)

Sixth round: 183rd overall (via the Texans): Kevin Harris, Running Back (South Carolina)

Sixth round: 200th overall: Sam Roberts, defensive tackle (Northwest Missouri State)

Sixth round: 210th overall (via Rams): Chasen Hines, Guard (LSU)

Seventh round: 245th overall (via the Texans): Andrew Stueber, Tackle / Guard (Michigan)
