The weather may swing into the 80s in Denver as the Outdoor Retailer Summer 2022 show continues, but at the Colorado Convention Center (and in the city beyond), many minds are on fall, winter and next spring. As the best and brightest brands continue three days of development, camaraderie and innovation in the outdoors, we get a great glimpse of what the future holds. Here are some of the coolest items we saw at and around the show.

Kokopelli Chasm Inflatable SUP
Kokopelli has just announced what it claims to be the lightest inflatable stand up paddle board on the market. It’s called the Chasm, and it’s only 13 pounds. It comes with a pump and paddle, fin and emergency kit, and the whole kit weighs 17 pounds. The paddle folds up into four pieces, making it extremely packable. Priced at just $999, the Chasm will launch in Spring 2023.

Helly Hansen Odin 9 Worlds 3.0
The Odin 9 worlds is Helly Hansen’s best-selling hard shell jacket, designed for backpacking and mountaineering, used and tested by search and rescue professionals. The key update to this summery style for Spring/Summer 2023 is the use of Ocean Bound fabric; the jacket uses 68% recycled plastic material that has been reclaimed from waterways, melted down and spun into a variety of yarns which then go into the Helly Tech Professional Fabric construction used in this jacket. The jacket also features Recco technology, which is incorporated into more of the brand’s summer apparel.
Adidas Terrex Tech Flooce Lightweight Hooded Hiking Jacket
To combat the loss of microfibers from traditional fleece, Adidas Terrex developed this mid-layer, which offers the warmth of brushed fleece without the environmental impact. Using an exclusive construction and a special selection of denier yarns, the brand has created loops on the jacket’s inner lining that are as soft as a classic fleece, with the same heat retention. The innovative version of a fleece layer comes in several weights: the lightweight, recycled option you see here is available now, and a heavier option will be released next season.
Roark Complice Bag Collection
For Spring 2023, Roark has created a collection of bags designed to be modular and adaptable, ready for any adventure you throw at them. The Accomplice Missing Link 42L in particular caught our eye: the durable dry bag is fully waterproof, has multiple carrying and closure options and security pockets for passports and travel documents.
