Are you back to the gym or hitting the road – let’s take a look at the latest 3D printed Adidas 4DFWD shoes for running or the gym.

Adidas Running presents the latest iteration of 4DFWD – the next step in data-driven 3D printed midsole technology designed to get you going. Combining years of athlete data with unique 3D printing technology, Adidas 4DFWD is created to provide runners with a whole new running experience.

For over four years, Adidas has been developing 4D lattice midsole technology in partnership with Carbon. Combining athlete data and Carbon’s Digital Light Synthesis technology to produce precision 3D printed midsoles. The Adidas 4D shoes are among the first in the world to use this cutting-edge technology, which offers the ability to adjust the midsoles to specific movement patterns so that athletes achieve precision performance with every step. Identified from one of five million possible lattice structures, 4DFWD is made with nature. The midsole is made from 40% natural and renewable materials to help remove plastic waste. The unique geometry of the 4DFWD cell is coded to compress in only one direction: forward. When a foot hits the ground, it applies braking forces. The 4DFWD reduces these forces by redirecting the impact forward. With every step, the 4DFWD midsole shears forward, providing a smooth transition and gliding experience.

To mark the release of the shoe, Adidas is launching the Take It Forward challenge where runners or walkers of all skill levels are challenged to cover 30km in three weeks in the Adidas Running app.Enroll for the Take It Forward challenge between August 5 and 9, then run or walk outdoors or on a treadmill between August 10 and 31. And if you’re looking for a holistic training plan to help you hit that 30k total.
