Tomorrow, June 25, as Sounders FC hosts Sporting Kansas City in a nationally televised contest on ABC (12:00 p.m. PT/ABC, ESPN Deportes, 93.3 KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM), the club celebrates pride month with its annual Pride Match, presented by Starbucks with a variety of special activities on match days.
The game is also a continuation of Rave Green’s Summer With The Champs. With a streak of five home games over four weeks, Summer With The Champs is an invitation to fans – young and old, new and established – to come experience summer fun at Lumen Field with Sounders FC enjoying a variety entertaining match themes. and elements. The festivities will culminate on July 9, when Rave Green unveil the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League team banner in the rafters of Lumen Field and celebrate their historic continental title before facing arch-rivals Portland.
Saturday’s game kicks off at 12:00 a.m. PT, with doors opening at 10:30 a.m. PT. With WSDOT planning working weekends on I-5 southbound from I-90 to Spokane Street, fans are encouraged to arrive early and consider public transit options, including SoundTransit’s sound trainwhich runs a matchday service.
For those arriving by bike, the team – in collaboration with Cascade Bike Club – offers a free bike valet program this Saturday. Bicycles can be parked with the valet located on Occidental Avenue near the north stadium parking lot from two hours before kick-off and must be claimed no later than one hour after the final whistle.
Fans are also reminded that the weather this weekend is expected to be warmer than usual, with a heat advisory currently in effect from Saturday to Monday. With such sudden hot weather in the area, fans should take proper precautions, such as wearing light clothing, staying hydrated and wearing sunscreen. Only suntan lotion is allowed to enter the stadium; no aerosol bottles are allowed. Lumen Field GuestLink stations will have sunscreen available for all guests who require it.
Outside the stadium, fans can expect Sound check in Occidental Square Park. This public pregame event is scheduled for 10:00-11:00 a.m. PT on Saturday. Fans can stop by the park to enjoy the party atmosphere, with music from DJ LGSP, performances by SoundWave, games and special Pride-themed giveaways.

Outside the Northwest Gates and available to ticketed and non-ticketed customers, fans can find a Pride Photo Experience and inside the gates, on the North Plaza, the Rave Green’s SEATTLE Letters are wrapped in a Pride theme. Stop at both to take unique souvenir photos of the day.

The stadium’s North Plaza, Northwest Marshalling and West Concourse are also where fans can find a selection of interactive games and activities, including:
• Face painting – Fans can receive free football-themed face painting.
• Pose with a Pro – An augmented reality experience that allows fans to have a virtual encounter with their favorite Sounders FC player, as well as a digital video of their encounter to share online.
• Sounders Penalty Kick – A digital activation where fans have five chances to score a goal against a virtual goalie.
• Football Skee-ball – This activation allows fans to play a football-themed version of Skee-Ball, kicking a ball up a ramp, rather than rolling it, in order to score as many points as possible.
• Billiards Football – Fans can play a soccer-themed version of pool, challenge a partner and toss colorful soccer balls into the oversized pool table pockets before their opponent.
Fans should not forget to take the time to take a photo with the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf Champions League Trophywhich is on display and available for photo ops at Southwest Field Plaza.
The Lumen Field Pro store offers an exclusive Pride Collection which features limited-run merchandise including adidas Pride 2022 warm-up tops, a Pride-themed Sounders FC t-shirt, a Pride scarf, and several other memorabilia.
Fans can grab a special treat and support a local business by visiting the PNW Marketplace concession area, located in the East Lobby outside of Section 113. During tomorrow’s game, Tamals of Frélard — a Latinx and LGBTQ+-owned restaurant based in the Green Lake neighborhood that specializes in handmade tamales — is featured with a special pop-up location.
The National anthem is executed by Rio Chanaeneo-soul singer-songwriter and spoken word poet from Seattle.
Just before kick-off, “Scarves! is managed by Enrique Nava, a supporter of Pride of sounda subgroup of Emerald City supporters.
On the pitch, the players wear special adidas Pride Warm Up Topsfollowed by match shirts that feature Jersey numbers and captain’s armbands inspired by the Progress Pride flag. The corner flags are also Pride themed.
Fans can also search for the Giant Progress Pride Flag fly to Lumen Field from the Toyota Fan Deck. Raised today by players from Sounders FC and OL Reign, the flag flies until July 1 in honor of Pride Month.
The Progress Pride flag design is a variation of the classic Pride flag and was created by graphic designer Daniel Quasar in 2018.
