Fais Group is set to make its grand entrance into the hotel business in Santorini, on April 18, 2022, combining one of the world’s most prestigious travel destinations with the authentic 5-star hospitality synonymous with the international flag of Radisson. Blu.
Located in a discreet and serene setting, just steps from Kamari, Santorini’s most characteristic beach, the Radisson Blu Zaffron Resort is an oasis of luxury that harmoniously combines the exotic and boho-chic atmosphere with the timelessness of the Cycladic architecture.
Taking its name from the rare and delicate saffron flower that still blooms in parts of the island, Zaffron aims to make Santorini a “destination to live in”.
Zaffron is the first lifestyle resort of the Fais Group, giving a clear image of its approach: authentic hospitality with unique design pillars, exclusive events and unforgettable experiences for visitors.
Through the elegance and ambience of its 103 suites and expansive facilities, the resort incorporates elements of the island lifestyle both through design and through a range of experiences, events and collaborations with international brands. It should be noted that this is the only hotel on the island that has an exclusive beach for guests only.
20 million euros of investment
This significant €20 million investment marks the Athens-based Fais Group’s foray into the hotel business, with next steps being expansion into Corfu and Crete.
Zaffron is a valuable addition to the group’s already huge portfolio of luxury, fashion and sports brands, which includes brands like Tod’s, Hogan, Salvatore Ferragamo, Philipp Plein, Princess Yachts, KIKO Milano, Under Armour, Adidas, Puma and Technogym. .
“With Zaffron, our goal is to present our sui generis approach to hospitality in a way that respects the heritage of the island,” said Manolis Papadakis, General Manager of the Hospitality Division of Radisson Blu Zaffron Resort.
“At the same time, we want to introduce a new idea where our visitors’ experience is enriched and enhanced through dynamic collaborations of international brands and various exclusive events.”
Contemporary design reflecting the cultural heritage of the Cyclades
Greek architects Arc-Set are responsible for the design and master plan of Zaffron.
Wanting to create a relaxing and unique resort, while respecting the landscape of the island, Arc-Set spent two years in the design phase to ensure that the end result “fits” ideally with the raw beauty of Santorini.
The lobby’s elegant domes and arches pay homage to Santorini’s dominant architectural theme, extending as a design element throughout the 103 rooms, suites, and villas — from the Superior Room with king-size bed to the Presidential Suite with private pool.
The combination of natural materials such as wood and stone, creates an atmosphere with “earthly” elements, ideal for visitor relaxation.
Under the close supervision of Designteam / Nikos Theodorakopoulos, the resort’s carefully thought-out interior design creates a serene environment through the use of tactile materials, rich textures and a neutral color palette, framed by high-end brands from furniture and household items such as Ethimo and Pols Potten.
Durable wooden surfaces are complemented by linen and cotton fabrics, while the walls are decorated with black and white photographs that capture the breathtaking beauty of Santorini. Keyless entry and amenities like Nespresso machines and Korres toiletries are small but essential touches that contribute to the overall feeling of luxury.
The station is designed in such a way as to allow the soothing element of water to be present throughout. In addition to the beach, jacuzzi and private heated pools are available in almost all rooms, while Zaffron also has two central heated pools, 220 and 138 m2. The main swimming pool is the heart of the resort, with its impressive black and white meander that attracts visitors.
The perfect setting for leisurely lunches and unforgettable evenings, the Pool Bar will host internationally acclaimed guest DJs and many other prestigious themed events, including those in conjunction with leading international modeling agency Elite Model Management London.
Zaffron Resort gastronomy: the famous Zefferino
Zaffron harnesses the power of international partnerships to deliver a unique concept and range of authentic dining experiences.
The resort’s Zeffirino Restaurant has been a glamorous and world-famous name since its establishment in Genoa in 1939, attracting a host of famous visitors: Sofia Lauren, Frank Sinatra, Eros Ramazzoti, Luciano Pavarotti, Mohamed Ali, Pope Francis and Pope John Paul II, and many more.
With breathtaking views of Santorini as a backdrop, Zeffirino offers guests an authentic Italian dining experience using local produce and popular recipes from the Zeffirino Belloni family cookbook. From homemade pasta to daily specials, not to mention the family’s secret yet world-famous recipe for ‘Pesto Genovese’, Zeffirino’s menu is complemented by an elaborate wine list that incorporates local Greek and Italian labels.
In a more relaxed setting, Trattoria Belloni offers a selection of classic Italian dishes and comfort food, or you can also enjoy sushi and cocktails while enjoying the ambiance of the Blu Pool Bar.
The exclusive beach of Zaffron Resort: the only beach reserved for Santorini guests
The exclusive guest section of Blue Flag awarded Kamari Beach offers an oasis of fun and relaxation for Blu Zaffron guests.
Crystal clear blue waters, with the white foam of their waves creating a complete contrast with the black volcanic sand.
Unbeatable 5-star service including aperitifs, relaxing tunes, plus events such as DJ sets and creative dinners, in conjunction with leading international modeling agency Elite Model Management London.
Unique experiences: art & well-being
As always in Greek culture, art is also an important part of the Zaffron experience. In collaboration with the famous Magnum Photos, the resort will offer its guests the opportunity to participate in unique photography workshops led by award-winning photographers.
At Zaffron’s spacious spa, guests can enjoy wellness treatments that utilize the healing properties of ingredients drawn directly from Greek nature. SPA exclusively uses Korres skin care and beauty products, made from natural ingredients, with references to the rich tradition of Greece.
Finally, the exclusive layout would not be complete without touches of comfort and practicality. Upon arrival, guests can take luxury and eco-friendly electric cars, while enjoying the feeling of escaping to the beauty of the Aegean Sea with a private yacht or sailboat excursion.
Georgia Dodou, Marketing Director of the Hospitality & Gastronomy Division of Fais Group, talks about the overall experience offered to the visitor of the hotel: “The unique and exclusive beach, reserved for guests, will host international events that will create unique emotions and unforgettable memories. for our guests, showcasing Santorini in a quality destination where bespoke events and experiences will take center stage with the gastronomic identity of Zaffron Resort.
